Using just your phone and a sheet of printer paper, Wayfinder builds a 3D scan of both feet and measures length, width and instep. Most people have never had their feet measured beyond a shoe size, and those numbers are what separate a boot that fits from one that hurts.

Most online boot finders ask your shoe size and skill level. Wayfinder actually measures your feet and compares them with each boot’s last width (how wide the boot is inside) and fit profile. Two skiers with the same shoe size often end up in very different boots.

The team behind Wayfinder
The idea for Wayfinder started in 2018, when Bruce went to get fitted for new ski boots. It meant booking more than a month ahead, spending 4 to 5 hours in the shop and trying on upwards of ten boots, then paying $300 for the fitting on top of $800 boots. Bruce kept thinking there had to be a better way. After years working in product operations at Apple and shaping autonomous vehicle products at Cruise and Aurora, Bruce took MasterFit’s one-day associate course in snowsports bootfitting and founded Wayfinder in 2024 in Northern California so other skiers don’t have to go through that.

No. Any smartphone works, plus a sheet of printer paper to stand on. If you start on a computer, scan a QR code to finish the foot scan on your phone, then see your results on your phone or switch back to your computer.
No. Plenty of skiers could visit a shop but would rather not spend hours at a fitting or risk a return on an online order. Your results also work alongside a bootfitter. Bring your shortlist to the shop and you’ll spend less time trying on boots that were never going to fit.
